- Freiburg-based software company automates the adjustment of time slot bookings based on real-time data.
- The aim is to make more efficient use of resources and reduce manual intervention in ramp logistics.
Freiburg i.Br., 8 July 2025. The software company Cargoclix from Freiburg im Breisgau has added a new function called Auto Move to its web-based time slot management system SLOT. The extension enables bookings to be adjusted dynamically and automatically – for example, in the event of changes to the estimated time of arrival (ETA), the arrival of trucks or status changes within the booking process.
The Auto Move function analyses ongoing processes in the ramp environment in real time and automatically moves existing bookings to more suitable time slots. This not only reduces idle times, but also significantly minimises manual planning efforts. In addition to the automatic reallocation of slots, predefined events can also trigger the sending of email notifications to the ramp operator or truck drivers.
‘The Auto-Move function is a significant step towards self-regulating time slot management,’ says Victor Meier, consulting partner at Cargoclix. ‘Our goal is to create an infrastructure that adapts flexibly to unpredictable events and measurably improves processes for everyone involved in the supply chain.’
The new function is aimed at different groups of players within the logistics chain. Freight forwarders and logistics service providers benefit from shorter waiting times and better synchronisation with actual arrival times. Ramp managers, in turn, can use resources more efficiently and reduce the amount of manual coordination required. Administrators of large logistics sites also benefit from simplified booking management. Last but not least, the increased transparency also improves planning for customers and supply chain partners.
Auto Move is activated via the administration area in the ‘My Cargoclix > Timeslots’ module. Once the ETA option has been activated, users have access to extensive configuration options, including setting trigger events, destination ramps and time intervals for reallocation. With Auto Move, Cargoclix aims to make complex logistics processes more intelligent and responsive. This is an important step towards greater efficiency and resilience in transport logistics.
